Mogadishu Tech Summit: Scaling Somali Solutions: Youth-led, Tech-Enabled

On 19-21th November, 2019, iRise Hub, together with its partners, BRA, young entrepreneurs, innovators, techies, investors, and representatives from government, civil society, United Nations, and development agencies will gather in Mogadishu for the second Tech Summit in Somalia.
This year, the summit is entitled, “Scaling Solutions for Somalia: Youth-led, Tech-enabled” and is being convened by iRise Hub, in partnership with Benadir Regional Administration (BRA), Somali government, United Nations, EU, USAID, as well as other international organizations.
The organizers of the summit will accredit media and press partners for security, safety and procedural purposes. Registered and accredited media will have access to all our plenary, discussion, workshops, signature sessions that will feature high level dignitaries from government, embassies and UN officials and will finally be allowed to interview and join the closing remarks.
Press and journalist are requested to conduct themselves in civilized and professional manner to ensure a positive narrative is being transmitted.
The final day, 21th of November of the summit will take place inside MIA with UN agencies, ministries, ambassadors, international experts, Somali entrepreneurs and members of the Somali diaspora, brainstorming “what next” ideas on how to use technology for sustainable development, and to create opportunities for young people in an increasingly globalized, digital world.
The final day will also see a series of start-up companies go head to head in a pitching, Mayor of Mogadishu to unveil new housing project, an innovation fund for women to be launched, finale to win seed funding.
